Kemipex Techno-Commercial Session 2021
Kemipex held a Techno-Commercial Session at the Automechanika Dubai 2021 exhibition on December 15th 2021, this was our first Techno-Commercial Session since the onset of COVID-19.
There were three speakers, Dr Rolfe Hartley, who is our Senior Technical Advisor based in the USA, he joined virtually, as unfortunately, he was unable to travel to Dubai due to the risk of COVID-19. Dr Rolfe has a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Illinois. He started his career in 1984 working for Ethyl Petroleum Additives, which was later renamed Afton Corporation. Dr Rolfe worked in Analytical reverse engineering competitive packages and was named head of ATF package development at Afton.
With more than 12 years of experience at Afton, he then joined Infinium for more than 15 years, where he played an important role in the development of many industrial and automotive additive packages meeting several API and OEM standard levels. He also developed formulations for Hydraulic fluids, 2T formulations and dispersants. Dr Rolfe delivered a presentation on Gear Oil Trends & Developments from the safety of his home.
Our last and final speaker was Mr Kumar Thangavel, a gold medallist in Chemical Engineering/Tribology from the Indian Institute of Technology, Chennai. He has worked with BPCL, LUBRIZOL, PETROMIN, ENOC and ADNOC as the Head of Technology, and has over 40 years of experience. Mr Kumar has travelled across the world and is a respected speaker at ICIS conferences. Currently, he is the Senior Technical Advisor at Kemipex and discussed the trends in e-mobility.
Overall, the event was a huge success and many of our local customers attended the event and joined our team for the complimentary buffet we arranged after the presentations were completed. We hope to arrange another Techno-Commercial Session again in the near future.
